The Spanish PV plant “Desafio Solar” incorporates Gamesa Electric PV Stations

The project “Desafio Solar”, in Escatron (Zaragoza, Spain), has a total capacity of 49,98 MWp. It will help to generate the electricity equivalent to the average consumption of 12,000 homes.

Gamesa Electric has signed a new contract for the supply of equipment for the “Desafio Solar” project, located in Escatron (Zaragoza, Spain). For this project, the total supply will be of ten 5.16 MVA solar stations, each of which will include two 2,58 MVA solar inverters, a step-up transformer and a MV protection switchgear. In addition, a central PV Controller for the power plant – to ensure the fulfilment of the PV plant grid code connection requirements – and a list of spare parts will be supplied.

It is not the first time we collaborate with this client. We have worked together previously in other seven countries and eight different solar plants, where we have supplied this customer a total of 225 MW. This new collaboration is just the consequence of the high reliability of both our team and our products that help to strengthen our already strong presence in Spain, where we have installed a total of seven plants in the range of 50MW each one in the last few months with different customers.

The plant installed in Escatron will cover an area of 160 hectares and will generate the electricity equivalent to the average consumption of 12,000 households.
