Commissioning of Dignes-les-Bains, our first PV reference in France (5 MWac)

Commissioning of Dignes-les-Bains, our first PV reference in France (5 MWac)

Last July, we carried out successfully the commissioning of Dignes-les-Bains photovoltaic solar plant in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur in southeastern France.

This is our first project in France and our second collaboration with the same client, a leading group in services and energy solutions which has chosen Gamesa Electric for the quality of our products, the technical capacity of our team and our cost competitiveness.

Products from our Gamesa Electric PV 2X series family were supplied for this project, with two PVS 2500 stations for a total power of 5 MWac. Each of these stations incorporates one Gamesa Electric PV 2500 high efficiency 1500Vdc solar inverter, which has one of the highest efficiency values on the market (99.1% maximum efficiency; 98.8% European efficiency). Each station also includes the step-up transformer and the medium voltage protection switchgear.

To comply with both the client’s and ENEDIS (Medium Voltage network operator in France) project requirements, and also to face the challenging conditions at the installation site, with slopes of up to 20% in the last 5 km of access, it was necessary to customize accordingly our solutions for this project. In addition, the project equipment was adapted to fulfill with very demanding temperature conditions (up to 55ºC for step-up transformer), according to customer specifications.
