New 30 MW supply contract for a hydropower plant in Vietnam

Two Gamesa Electric 15 MW synchronous generators will be supplied for the Dak Di Hydropower Project, currently under construction in the mountainous province of Quang Nam

We have received a new supply contract for two 15 MW Gamesa Electric synchronous hydro generators for Dak Di 1 hydropower plant. Part of the Dak Di Hydropower Project, this plant is under construction in Nam Tra My district, Quang Nam province (Vietnam).

Construction works for this hydro project started in January 2020. The plant is expected to be connected to the national grid by August 2021.

This is not our first project with this client. We have already collaborated in eight projects located in six different countries, for a total of 130 MW of installed capacity.

Dak Di Hydropower project is one of many hydroelectric projects being developed in Vietnam. To meet with a growing national electricity demand and serve socio-economic development, this country is moving towards renewable energy sources. With tropical monsoon climate conditions with a high average rainfall and dense mountainous terrain and rivers, Vietnam has a huge potential for hydropower development.
