Gamesa Electric has been awarded four new contracts with a new client for the supply of 9 synchronous generators. These hydro generators will be installed in four different plants in Nepal: Upper Lohore, Upper Hewa Khola, Super Dordi y Upper Solu Khola.
The total supply for this project will be of two 2.5 MW generator, two 5 MW generators, two 27 MW generators and three 7 MW generators. The total capacity of these projects will be of 90 MW together.
A rising demand of renewable energies
With a rising energy demand in the country, the government is focusing its efforts in the production of energy from renewable resources. The country is estimated to have a high hydro potential of 83,000 MW of electricity, with 43,000 MW of which are considered to be economically viable.
