Uchiyama hydroelectric project

Uchiyama hydroelectric project

For Japan, which lacks natural resources, hydroelectric power is a purely domestic source of energy that is stable and environmentally friendly.

The century-old Uchiyama station on the Sakawagawa River is undergoing equipment replacement and repowering. Gamesa Electric, through its collaboration, is contributing to this project, incorporating a 5MW synchronous generator, which will improve the performance of this station in the Kanagawa district. Run-of-river developments come with a lighter footprint than a typical dam, avoiding flooding and relocation of people.

This evidences the country’s firm commitment to renewable energies for more than 100 years.

This is 7TH time this client has trusted our products and team capabilities as together. We have installed a total of 150 MW, in 2 different countries, and for the first time away from Nepal.
