New supply contract for refurbishing the auxiliary turbines 4 & 5 of the Angat Hydro-Electric Power Plant (AHEPP) in Norzagaray, Bulacan, Philippines.
The Project involves the opportunity to optimize the performance from auxiliary turbines 4 and 5 using the current technology of our hydropower generators.
The upgrade works are expected to be completed by 2023 and will increase the total facility’s power generation capacity by 4% to 226.6MW.
Commissioned in 1967, Angat hydropower facility supports the irrigation of 25,000ha of farmlands in Bulacan and Pampanga. It also meets 90% of Metro Manila’s potable water needs.
The rehabilitated Angat hydropower plant is expected to supply additional reliable power in the Philippines while meeting the population’s water needs. This upgrade will extend the life of the Angat hydropower plant for another 50 years.
The total supply for this project will be of two Gamesa Electric synchronous hydro generators, one of 10MW and other of 18MW.
This is the 6th time Gamesa and this client work together. This client has trusted our products and team capabilities as together, we have installed a total of 80 MW, in 5 different countries.
