María Fernández Cerrato, Head of EH&S in our plant in Reinosa, participated in this professional forum organized by the Association of Superior Technicians in Occupational Risk Prevention of Cantabria and the Cantabrian Institute for Health & Safety at Work (ICASST), detailing our processes of implementation of LO-TO programs.
On the last 16th of May, Gamesa Electric took part in the technical session of consignment of machines (LO-TO), organized by the Association of Superior Technicians of Prevention of Occupational Hazards of Cantabria in collaboration with the Cantabrian Institute for Health and Safety at Work (ICASST).
A high percentage of the most serious accidents related to machines happen because their dangerous energies are not adequately neutralized. The consignment programs (Lock Out & Tag Out) help to manage and block these dangerous energies and protect the personnel during regular operations, maintenance, repairs, cleaning, etc.
After the intervention of several speakers, María Fernández Cerrato, Head of EH&S, was able to share our experience with this procedure, developing from the needs that drove us into this project, the barriers that were detected, and the system followed for its implementation.
From Gamesa Electric we give great importance to the implementation of processes and improvements to create a safe and healthy work environment. Thanks to the organizers of the day for inviting us to this forum we were able to share our Occupational Health and Safety strategy with other professionals in the search of a continuous improvement in our work environment.
