Miramundo solar PV solar plant has begun its construction works in Puerto Real (Cadiz) in March. This project, with a total capacity of 50MW, will have Gamesa Electric equipment is the second of the five projects that we will supply in the coming months in Spain.
Miramundo is our second project in Spain with our prefabricated concrete solutions (including photovoltaic inverters and MV switchgear) and with outdoor transformer.
For its construction, located on an area of 129 hectares, we will supply nine Solar PV Station 5200, including 18 PV 2500 Inverters (2,600KVA @ 25ºC). Also, for grid code interconnection requirements compliance applicable to the photovoltaic plant, a Power Plant Controller will be supplied.
The construction works are expected to continue over the next nine months, and the entry into operation and grid connection is scheduled for the end of 2019.
With an investment of 30 million euros, the plant will annually generate electricity to provide power to more than 26,000 homes. In addition, according to the emission factors published by the Spanish Office of Climate Change (OECC), it will avoid the emission of 40,000 tons of CO2 per year into the atmosphere.
Miramundo is part of the agreement formalized last year for the supply of solar photovoltaic stations for five plants in Spain for a total of 250 MW; 150 MW of which were awarded to our client by the Government in the last renewable energy auction.
