GRID INTEGRATION ENGINEER

We are seeking a person to cover the position of Grid Integration Engineer to join our Technology team. This position plays a critical role on the development and support of Gamesa Electric’s converters, inverters & power plant controllers modeling. This position supports all the product modeling lifetime cycle, so operational and strategic assessment for developing power electronics modeling is required.

We are looking for a Grid Integration Engineer to develop converter and power plant controller models for solar and battery storage markets. You will become part of a high-performance team responsible for the grid integration design and support of the converter and controllers manufactured by the company.

Job’s profile:

The selected candidate is expected to:

Develop of inverter and Power Plant Controller models in different SW (PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory, etc) for photovoltaic and battery storage markets.

Inverter and Power Plant Controller model homologation for specific markets, such as India, Australia, Europe, US, etc

Grid code surveillance to identify new requirements that will launch new developments.

Grid integration studies of PV & BESS projects to confirm correct dimensioning and grid code fulfillment.

Inverter model correlation with test rig results

Technical notes generation with the grid code compliance analysis of Gamesa Electric inverters and Power Plant Controllers

Support on Power Plant Controller parametrization of PV & BESS plants

Pre-sales support on PV & BESS plant dimensioning and technical questions of customers

Sales support with customers

After sales support in relation to models, grid code compliance and operational limits

Skills & Knowledge:

Knowledge of electrical grids and grid code compliance

At least 3 years of experience in grid integration for the renewable energy market

Experience in analysis, diagnosis and problem solving on complex systems

Fluent in Spanish and English

Full competence on, minimum, one of the following SW: PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory

Methodical and practical approach in solving problems

Autonomy

Effective communication with co-workers and customers

Attention to the detail

Critical and logical thinking

We’re looking for a Master Engineering degree holder (pref. Electrical / Power Electronics) to cover a strategic position in the Technology team with more than 5 years developing models for solar & storage markets.
